| What to Expect |
|
While Good Shepherd’s sanctuary is visible from Leesburg Pike (Route 7), you’ll find the entry drive on Reston Avenue. On any Sunday, you’ll find many people from households of all ages, sizes and configurations. The majority of members are from the Herndon and Reston communities, but many others travel greater distances to be part of the Good Shepherd worshiping community. We have no “dress code” or particular expectations about attire. Some folks will be in suits and ties while others will be more casually dressed. We’re simply delighted by all who come. Our worship services are shaped by the liturgical tradition of the Christian church. Holy Communion is celebrated in both services on the first, third (and fifth) Sundays of each month. The second Sunday of each month features the Order of Matins from the 1941 Lutheran Hymnal at the early service and a praise band supported worship at the late service. After the early service, you might choose to join to visit with others for coffee and casual conversation in our Fellowship Hall. From September to June, you might join in one of our many adult classes at 9:30 am. We even have one that’s simply entitled “Walk In Bible Study.” You’ll be most welcome. Please, when you worship, fill in our “fellowship pad,” a register of all worshipers. We’d love to know you were with us. And please introduce yourself to our pastor and others. |
